NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH PROGRAM

1.  Be Alert

2.  Know your neighbours

3.  Report suspicious activities and

     crimes to the proper authorities.

Stay Safe!

Hi All,
Spring and summer are upon us and, with the warmer temperatures, theft becomes instantly more appealing for those individuals who would like to have your stuff for free without asking for it.

Here are five major tips that will help you to not become a Lynnwood Summer Statistic:

1.     Area Lighting is key because criminals don't want to be seen.  As they walk by your house at 3 a.m., they usually take a look in your backyard or check your vehicle safety.  If motion lights come on they are less likely to target your property.

2.     Don't leave desirable objects in your backyard over night, secure everything in the garage or a lockup.

3.     Leave lights on inside when you are out for the evening.

4.     It is better to hide a key with a trusted neighbour than in your backyard.  If you have a key in your mailbox, on your BBQ, a nail on your backyard tree, under a potted plant or a doormat, you can be sure it will be found eventually.

5.     Know your neighbours so you can keep an eye on each other's property; this greatly increases our overall ability as a community to thwart crime in our neighbourhood.

If you, as a member of the Lynnwood Community, have any concerns that you feel should be addressed by our council, do not hesitate to contact me @ 721-7936 or 642-3738.

I look forward to serving on your council and encourage all residents of Lynnwood to take an active part in reporting crime in our area to keep Lynnwood a safe and strong community in which to live, work and raise our children.

Cheers and Stay Safe!!
